Frog swimming in water

Frog swimming in water
Latin Name
Pelophylax kl. esculentus

Illustration Description

The frog was painted as if it was in water, as it was to form part of a larger project for a poster describing the environmental pressures these amphibians are under. It was drawn in pencil straight onto paper and completed with watercolours.

The common frog is distributed throughout Britain and Ireland, and much of northern Europe, they can be found in almost any habitat where there are suitable breeding ponds. In the south of their range, they live mostly in the cooler uplands.
