Natural History Illustration

Natural history is my favourite subject because it involves animals and the natural world and it is why I chose to become an artist that specialises in this area.

One of the crucial aspects of this job is the research. It is key to gain the knowledge and understanding of the subject because you can not do a decent drawing otherwise. There is also a requirement to really take the time and get to know your customer and their project brief. I can say that natural history illustration involves a lot of problem solving too but I love this part just as much because the natural world is so fascinating. This means all my illustrations are completed with love and care to ensure they turn out how I and my customer want them to turn out!
