Illustration Description

The purpose of the illustration was to highlight which biting insects live in the rivers of Ghana, Africa and how it may be possible that local people are bitten by the water bourn insects.  The insects were researched so that the chosen species were only the insects capable of biting. To show how a person may be bitten a woman washing clothes was illustrated whilst standing in shallow water.  The washing of clothes in this way is a typical occurance in Ghana.

The layout of the infographic was set in summer time and the purpose to show a comparison of how it is more likely that insects would be present in the more still and stagnant water, as opposed to a full and fast flowing river that were full of rain water.
