The Interior Alaskan wolf (Canis lupus pambasileus), also known as the Yukon wolf, is a subspecies of the gray wolf native to parts of British Columbia, the Northwest Territories, Interior Alaska and Yukon. I was inspired to paint this after travelling to Alaska and having the privilege of seeing them.
